Have a chance at a new 357 bisley 7.5in. barrel and don't know what a decent price would be. I have a couple of old models in 357 so I don't NEED it but I'm to the point now that I don't like to push my older guns . I run a lot of top end loads through my 357's , but nothing too hot.Just think that a new model with the big frame would be a better idea.(Maybe they make em quieter now than they used to)Thanks,Glen

I pickd up one NIB a few months ago for $440 + tax. It's almost too pretty to shoot, but it is a great shooter.

You won't be sorry picking one up.

Watch gunbroker for awhile and keep some notes on what the guns bring. My guess is about $400 +/- would be close.

The 7.5 is a shooter, but a little bit much to carry "woodswalking," etc for me. The limited edition stainless 357 BISLEY with 5.5 inch barrel is on my "buy list"....if I can withstand temptation on Original Size VAQUEROS that keep catching my eye. My stainless BISLEY 44s with 5.5 inch barrel have been favorites for a lot of years...It cost me over $300 per gun, parts and labor, to make a SUPER BLACKHAWK into a BISLEY.

There are a lot of bargains out there for a guy with some cash and patience. Rotten economy and selling a gun versus rent or groceries isn't much of a choice. (I daily thank God for a good job and a retirement check whenever I want to call it quits...our kids won't be so lucky the way the future looks to me.)

JMHO; been there, done that. If have to have revolver for 357 nuke loads, go for it. I found that 357 Bisley is too much steel for this round. Since I wanted load for silhouette shooting. I looked data and found that whatever is max. 357 load (with erosion that goes with such high pressure loads), it's basically mid range load in 41 Magnum. Well, I was lucky to find 41 Bisley and never looked back. As for the top loads, see what could be done in a strong guns like NM BH or Bisley; http://www.leverguns.com/articles/paco/41magnum.htm , http://www.leverguns.com/articles/paco/41heavy.htm .

I used mine for a deer rifle when I hunted from a tree stand back East. Now I use a 6" GP, which is a LOT handier. If you get the Bisley, get a shoulder holster; they are heavy, to say the least. And about recoiless with any sane load.

If you are looking for a sturdy 357 magnum for load development you won't find stronger except maybe a Redhawk in 357 magnum. Both guns are ridiculously over-built, but that is the point isn't it. 8) 8)
