Got a Roku for Christmas but really have no idea what I’ll get on it. I’m away at present so I can’t check it out.

Think of it as a tuner for internet-based channels. Some free, most not, but you get to pick.

I have a TCL TV with Roku built into it. I use it to watch Netflix and Amazon Prime.
I love it.
I love it.
Roku is the best of the lot.

Including old westerns; sci-fi; comedy; drama and more.
You just need to know where to find "channels" to add to your line up.

Your "home" page on the ROKU will have a menu on the left that will allow you to search various genres of channels.
Remember that most "should" say "fees are" or "in channel purchases" (or similar) if there are charges.

Our Sony computer TV stopped being able to pick up the Wi-Fi so we bought the Roku and plugged it in.
Great unit for watching just about anything...especially pulling up Hickok45 on the big screen!
After a few weeks of use the TV now automatically has it loaded up so I now don't have to switch over to the Roku remote.

I cut the cord last March. I went with the Roku Express. Best thing I ever did, TV wise.
Thousands of free channels. You just need know where to look for them...see yooper1's postabove he hit most of them.
Plenty of pay ones too. I have Sling, but have been looking at Philo, for half the cost.
Also check out the private channels, to many to count.
I used to have a couple hundred channels on cable, and many nights I just couldn't find anything interesting to watch. That is no longer a problem.
