An interesting treatise (12 pages) about War, Warfare, and how & why it has and is changing. From the Army War College.

PDF download.

During my month of incarceration and recovery, I've watched a LOT of TV. Some of the shows were about military technology, robotics, and that sort of thing. While it's all sooper dooper when it works, I'm skeptical since I've been so many places where I can't even get a cell phone signal.
How do they expect this stuff to work 100% in combat when as we know, EVERYTHING THAT CAN GO WRONG DOES?

Same thing was said about airplanes and tanks just before WWI. There is a learning curve with any new tech, and we're just getting started with bots and AI. Give it a few years. :)

Btw, the USN is funding the building of some new unmanned drone ships (LUSV's).
