My wife was working on some project for work. It involved this set of instructions that’s short, like two pages.

I’m not sure what the project is, and it’s not really important here. But anyway, she types up the instructions into a Google Document.

And now Google has this relatively new feature. It’s part of something called Google NootbookLM. You can download the app onto your phone or computer.

It takes the written document and converts it into a spoken podcast. It only uses the information you have written, so there are no AI “additions” to mess up your instructions or documentation.

The end result is a very life like conversation between two people as on a podcast. Again? It’s only your own written information that makes up the narrative.

Anyway. I just thought it was pretty cool. It’s a great way to teach others how to do something.

For example, a user’s manual. Imagine if it were in a podcast that is fun to listen too?

How many people get an email with directions and then don’t bother to read the fine print? But as an audio podcast, you can just listen.

Everyone learns different, some have to “do it” others can just “read how” and others need to be “told how.”

Well, I just think it’s a good example of how AI is making things better.

I'll take a PASS on that one Kevin..........(but you already knew that
I'm waiting for Dr. AI (perhaps psychotherapy).. ;)
