Have you ever wondered why, when crossing a river on horseback, the riders never remove their boots? Boots hold a LOT of water and you never see the riders dump them out either.

I once had a pair of cowboy boots (Acme) with holes in the soles. Now I finally know what they were good for. I do recall they sucked when a horse I rode slipped and fell on me in the ice, and I had to walk back to the stable on foot!Colonialgirl said:Fox Mike said:Have you ever wondered why, when crossing a river on horseback, the riders never remove their boots?
