RIP Ron Power

My condolences to his family. I met him years ago at SHOT. Nice guy, of all the people at SHOT he took 10 minutes to talk to me.

Only 10 minutes? He must’ve been pressed for time. 😀. I would text my wife around mid-day to tell her I was stopping by to see Ron. She would reply for me to say “Hi” for her and she would not wait supper for me. She knew how long my visits would take.

I always felt fortunate to have a gun he built for me ( a #5 on a Ruger FT 44 Special) but more fortunate to call him a friend.

If you have ever had a chance to attend the SHOT Show, 10 minutes is long considering the thousand of people in attendance in any given moment. I would have love to spend a day with. When I was living in Prescott AZ, the number of big name gunsmiths at Fred Wells' Saturday lunch was most interesting.
