I recall reading once that he rarely spoke about his achievements unless he was specifically asked. His own daughter brought home a date who was introduced to her father. The young man asked if he was the same Bud Anderson of flying fame. His daughter had not just never heard of his fame, she barely even knew what he did for a living! Salute to the man, and to the men of his time like him.

With the death of my nephew, it dawned pn me we are losing Korean and Viet Nam vets fairly rapidly.

Viet Nam vets are now in their seventies.............
