Results of my .38 Special and .357 Mag loads........

Got out today to run my first batch of .38 Special +P and .357 Mag reloads.
Revolvers were the Ruger LCR .357 and S&W Model 66 .357 with 4 inch barrel.

.38 +P load used X-treme plated 125 gr. bullet over 5.8-6.0 gr. of Unique.

.357 Mag loads used Hornady 125 gr. XTP bullet over 8.3-8.5 gr. of Unique

Ruger LCR with .38 +P
874-890 FPS

S&W 66 with .38 +P
940-1010 FPS.

Ruger LCR with .357 Mag
1061- 1150 FPS

S&W 66 with .357 Mag
1200-1280 FPS.

As a compare I got a couple of speeds shooting Speer Gold Dot 125 gr. 357 Mag thru the Ruger LCR
and recorded 1160 FPS.

Very happy with my results and now to load up more!

Yep, I would be happy too. 8) . Ya might need to load up a whole lot, cause you will want to shoot more. :mrgreen:

Looks like good loads. Unique is a great powder.

For my LCR 357 I like 125 gr cast bullets with a light dose of Trail Boss powder.
