Removing Front Sight Pin on a Ruger Standard

I am attempting to return my old Ruger Standard to original by removing a set of Millett adjustable sights that I had installed in 1991. I tapped out the rear after market Millett sight with a brass hammer and punch and tapped the original rear sight back in. Now all I need to do is remove the tall Millett front sight and and install the original and I am back to the original fixed sights. To remove the front pin, do I tap it out left to right or right to left or does it matter? The Millett pin is a rolled type pin, is there any special way to remove it or simply tap it out with the appropriate size punch?

Left-to-right. This is as the pistol is pointed away from you.
A Roll Pin punch is MUCH preferred.
