Can't say for sure about the Rugers but most front beads are screwed in.

Get a set of padded jaw pliers, put some masking tape over the barrel near the bead so you don't scratch the barrel and wrench away.

A little penetrating oil like Krol or even Liquid Wrench the night before you try wouldn't be a bad idea either.

if it doesn;t "unscrew" it just may be a "pressed fit" one, like the mid-rib beads.......

call the service department in New Hampshire and ask them.......

Brass don't tolerate much stress. So, if it is pressed-in, it's a safe bet that trying to uncrew it is gonna cause it to break off in it's hole if ya try to remove it.
Leastways, that's been my experience.

they have those bead sight tools that are a compression, curved to grab the bottom of the sight bead, Brownells sells them come in a set of two or three different sizes, evens out the prssure and will let it rotate..have used those over the years ,work for us.........
just the other day had one that was broken off, tried to tap the hole and the "press in shoulder" came out, oh well...next size up............OR buy and use the "press in " beads...its a crap shoot til you at least ,call and ask
