Just read on another Forum that a member just purchased a new Redhawk 4.2" 44 Mag that had a fired case from March 20 2012. Anyone heard of a new run of RH's. Hope so and some .45Colt 5" or 6" RH's would be dandy.

Picked a 4" up Monday, was dated 1-19-12. Not sure if that means they do a "run" every other month or just doing them more often to try to meet demand.

If they are making them why on earth are they not making any in .45 to fill the huge demand!

I think Ruger must be so far behind it will take a long time for them to catch up. Look at the demand for SR1911s, 454 Alaskans, Redhawks and Scout Rifles. You know they would make them if they could to fill all the orders they have outstanding.

My FFL said that Ruger has made no promises lately and appear to be several months behind in production.... Demand has went through the roof and they are fulfilling orders as fast as they can.

I've got a Redhawk 4" in .45 Colt, bought it in Feb of 2010. Are they tough to get these days? I didn't realize there was such a huge demand. What I really wanted was a 5" but they were as common as hens teeth at the time and are still far and few between. Since then I've fallen in love with the .357 Mag Redhawks.

Yep ..they are way behind on making there best revolver ,,The Speed Six !!!!!

There is a .45 Colt 4.2" at the local shop if anyone is interested send me a PM and I'll see what I can do. I think it was $719.

Heh....makes me glad I picked up my barely used RH in 45lc with the discontinued 5.5" barrel last year at a hefty price of $450.

I picked up a Redhawk 4.2" barrel in 45 Colt in January. The test fired case was dated September 2010! Must have been at the bottom of a stack for a long time. In perfect condition.

Not to mention the price on those guns have gone through the roof. When one does accidentally make it's way to Anchorage it goes for MSRP. I buy a lot of guns for our two DU events and this year has been the most difficult I've experienced in years in buying guns. Many come from manufacturers, some from a Distributor and they all bust their hump to get us what we want, but this year we didn't get a single SRH Alaskan 454 which is a problem due to the fact that a couple of these have been highly advertised on a couple of raffles. Talking to dealers they are selling guns at this time faster than they can replenish them. Great time for the industry, tough for the end users.

I'm glad I got my used 4.2" .44 Magnum RH a year ago. I saw it and knew I had to have it.

It has the pinned extractor and is one of the early 4.2" RH's, the new ones have the pinless box extractor. I have seen them on GunBroker, never seen a new 4.2" RH in person.

Ruger is making so much these days that when demand is up for one model they have a hard time filling the orders. I think most revolver production is geared toward LCR's,SP101's and GP100's these days.
