Stainless steel Redhawk in .357 mag with 7.5 inch barrel, original wood grips with box and papers and obviously used but very little. Conservatively 95-98% condition. Trigger has the usual last-hang-up catch before it trigger breaks that seems to be common with Ruger double actions. They want $530 plus tax. Is this a decent deal, screaming deal, or not much of a deal at all? I'm honestly not the biggest Redhawk fan out there, but I love .357mag/.38spl calibers and this is about the only one that I don't have in that caliber....so I'm thinking it would not only kind of complement my collection but I might also find that I could have lots of fun with it. I like that I would definitely NEVER shoot this gun loose even with the hottest of hand loads. Also, since they don't make these any longer, if I bought it for the right price, I could always get my money back out of it if I should decide to sell it some day. Serial number is 501-04xxx, which appears to be from 1985 according to the Ruger web site. Should I jump on it? What is a fair value of this? Thanks for any help you can offer me!

Considering a New Redhawk .44mag is about $700 in my area, I would say that is a really good deal. The REDHAWK is the ultimate launch platform for the .357mag round. :D

I absolutely love 44 Mag Redhawks, my favorite 44 Mag DA revolver. However, after handling a 357 redhawk, I didn't see the point. It seemed unnecessarily over sized for a 357.

But, on the positive side, it should be good for millions of rounds of 357.

Since that price is about what I see 44 redhawks go for, I have to think that is a good price for a 357.

I know you are pulling our leg. There is no way you didn't buy that revolver for that price. I recently found a nice 5 1/2" .45 Colt Redhawk for $400 plus tax. Do you think I screwed around on the internet before I bought it? Robert
