Redhawk hammer

Does anybody make a Redhawk hammer with a larger thumb pad than the original. Kind of like the S&W target hammers? I have a hard time reaching mine.

I dunno about Redhawks but I've cut off the tops of Ruger Bisley hammers and welded them to the bottom of my Old Model hammers......

You will find that the Redhawk hammer is three times harder than the hubs of hell and doesn't weld easily. Back in the '80s I wanted to lighten my hammer to speed up the lock time. After smokin' a cobalt bit and then a carbide one, I finally had it EDM'd. Same with the trigger trying to drill for an overtravel screw. I finally silver brazed a piece of brass welding rod to the back of it and filed it down to adjust.

Gee, maybe a big gob of JB Weld with some checkering. Good Luck.

I think Jim Stroh widens and checkers those hammers.Just going by memory which is iffy.Check on his site. Alpha Precision Inc. is the business name.

Short barrel beat me to it. Never had him do a RH hammer
but did have him weld up and make a target trigger for
a Python I had. Nice work. He is known for his welding.
A chemist by training if I recall.
