RED DOT SIGHTS ON PC4 & MINI 14

I just mounted Bushnell Trophy (ACOG Style) red dot sights on both my PC4 and Mini 14 SS Law Enforcement model (16" barrel) using the excellent Weigand mounts.

I have always used optical scopes and this is my first use of red dots.
It feels to me like the Bushnell Trophy red dot sights mount too high for the comb height of both stocks. My aging eyes love the red dots illumination but the red dot mounting height seems "just not right".

Also when I mount either rifle, the dot does not seem "centered".

Anybody have any experience, comments or suggestions on this or something similar
Thanks.

By the way-I just shot CorBon's PowerBall .40 S&W (not +p) in the PC4.
I used wet pack to check expansion and penetration. WOW !
Double caliber expansion and great penetration and not one malfunction.
These puppies will be my home defense round in my PC4 and Sig P229 SAS DAK exclusively.
Thanks

I just put a trophy bushnell 1.75 x 4 on my mini. Love it.
I have crosshairs though, and frankly mine are slightly off center, MINOR.
No experience with Dots, and has nothing to do with your issue really,
just wanted to chime in I also just installed a Bushnell Trophy, like it a lot.
2x seem perfect for that gun.

At the moment I have the same optics on both:

I have had an Aimpoint Red dot on my PC4 for years. That is my go-to pest control and hog gun. The PC is such a great gun, and the red dot brings it up another notch.

My PC9 has a picatinny rail from NCStar (available at www.m1surplus.com) and I have a Tasco PDP3 (1x 33mm) red dot sight on it... they work well together for me.
