Not sure where to enter this question.....just signed up today. Would appreciate comments and feedback: Why would a pre 1976 Mini-14 be more desireable than a 1976 200th anniversary Liberty, Bridgeport Connecticut model?

Question have a 189 series mini 14/30 looking to replace the stock will a 180 series work with any adjustments
If you are asking whether it will work as-is, the answer is no....If I misunderstood your question, perhaps you could re-phrase it and add some punctuation.

I don't know that it is more desirable. While I do realize that some people have a fondness for owning something which is relatively scarce...to me, the "more desirable" Mini's are the more recent versions, particularly the late-582 and up series.

DWG is right, at least I think that way..... It took years, too many, for Ruger to fix the problem in the mini-14. Cool rifle, interesting concept.... take the M-14 design and just copy it for .223 caliber..... they just took too long making a decent barrel for them.
