Going to be looking for a holster for the 4 5/8s inch 44spl flattop. I want one that rides comfortably as a crossdraw when in a vehicle and that has the extra belt slots that it will also convert to a strong side carry (right handed) if needed. Would prefer if it tucks tight and rides slightly high when wearing in strong side fashion. Anybody have one they would recommend?

I really like the Galco DAO which is made for double action guns. It carries heavy revolvers very well. I have one for a Redhawk and a GP100.

They also have the same holster that is the SAO for single actions. I believe you can get them from the Ruger store. I have not used them for the single action guns but would not hesitate to.

Look at Bianchi Cyclone for Crossdraw with SA. I use one on occasion with a 3 screw. 45

Also have a Bianchi Cyclone, mine for a 7 1/2" SBH. Have had it for @ 25yrs now. Its doing fine. steve b

The Galco appears to be nice. Camera Land or Optics Planet usually has them at a 15-20 dollar discount. As said, it works both ways. jack

I like the Simply Rugged Sourdough pancake. Used it with a 5.5 inch Super. Also added the straps to make it an outdoor shoulder holster later. Really recommend it. If you decide you like the Galco SAO, pm me and I have one I will make you a deal on.
