Recall on a P85

I have a question for the seasoned Ruger owners here. I have the opportunity to pick up a LNIB P85. The issue is , it has never had the recall performed on it. The safety has not been upgraded. Would you still buy it? How much trouble is it to send it back to the factory and have the recall item repaired. Would you keep it as it is and shoot it.

Let me know what the rest of you say.

I have had one for over 30 years that was never sent back for the recall.
I have never had a problem with it and have shot more bullets through it than a truck could carry.

If the price is right, heck yeah...I'd buy it! I have a P85 MK II and it's a great, unfailingly reliable pistol. And I'd probably just keep it stock and shoot it, but that's me. Better advice is check with Ruger and see what they say. It's probably an easy process and quick turnaround.

Two-and-a-half years ago I bought a used P85 and have since put ~5,000 rounds through it. Great shooter, great performance, I am 100% happy I made the purchase.
