Just received my rear sight blade for my Security Six.....Now, how do I install it ????

Just don't want to take the chance in damaging the spring ....

depends on what is in or on the guns sight now??? is the blade there?? are the screws there?? etc........
to change the blade you need to unscrew (remove ) the windage screw........using a paper clips or the tip of a small punch ( no bigger than 1/16 inch) you push into the windgae screw hole, below the blade, to push back (depress) the spring that is in there....lift out the old blade out through the top slot...reverse and put the new blade back into this top slot while depressing the small spring to allow the blade to drop ALL the way in and down.......the spring applies pressure to the sharp point of the sight blade, keesp it "in place" and you put the windage screw back in, you can push the blade in ( to the left) by hand to make it easier to screw the the screw in...once it engages the other end of the bottom of the blade you will get the "click, click" and the blade should be able to go back and forth.....................center it as a starting pont to adjust for YOUR eyes, the next time you go to the range..................could have done all this in less time than it took to type this all out.........

NOTE: on the newe rear sight blades, they may have a small 'dimple' on the bottom edge , this is for the newer sight bodies that have a corresponding 'hole/slot' in the top slot to slide this divot (notch) into...this help s to keep the newe sights from jumping out under recoil...if you sight blade has this ;divot' ( notch) and the body of the sight does NOT have the hole, you must file off the notch (divot) to make it fit and go into the slot......I do NOT think the older Security Sixes have the 'notch' system, been a while since I really LOOKED or had to change one of them out.......also the newer ones cna be gotten with a 'white ouline' blade.........

No blade is there but screw and spring intact..and my new white outlined blade has the dump..I'll need to file a bit..

Thanks for the info..

Mike
