This is the holder for .45 Colt and I used it in my primer removal setup and it seems to work great in my hand primer for .44 Magnum as well. Primer seated straight and below flush.
Anyone one else use the 20 holder for .44 ?

RCBS calls for an #18 shell holder for the .44 mag/ .44 Sp. and the #20 is listed for the .45 Colt. The 20 should be quite a loose fit on your brass but you can probably get away with it for priming. I would not use it for full length resizing. It would probably pull over the rim leaving a case stuck in the die. Get the proper shell holder and avoid the frustration.

Lee lists the same shellholder for .44M and .45LC, the others list different ones. I've never had a problem with the Lee one for either .44 or .45 since the .45 dies I bought used didn't come with a shellholder. Cannot guarantee that the other manufacturers' are designed with the same tolerances in mind.

I only use these holders for primer removal in my old RCBS press and for use in the hand primer.
All sizing and loading is done on the Dillon 550 with correct tooling.
Seems like it will work fine and save a couple bucks at same time.

My dies are on the way for the Dillon in .44 cal. !

The Lee 44 sp/mag shell holders are slightly larger than a 30-30 . I can use them in the Lee hand primer, the Lee case trimmer and in my Lee press for 30-30 shell holders but I usually don't. :D
