declared yesterday a .44 mag day. Took a late friend’s Redhawk, a Winchester lever rifle and a bunch of his .44 reloads. I usually shoot 1911 and a 22/45 so this was different and great fun. No scores were kept just noisy fun. Some (10%) of his reloads had high primers so would not work in Redhawk but the saddle rifle ate them just fine. Glad I kept the 1894….I have a few thousand more of his reloads. Even though the 1894 has the large loop I cannot even imagine doing the John Wayne cocking. I wonder if that has ever been done outside of Hollywood
