Question on SP-101's

I see Ruger SP-101's? come in .357 mag and .38 special +P and my question is can .38's be fired in the .357 mag ? I know you can't go the other way, but was guessing that maybe they can't since they produce both guns.

Yes, 38 Special can be fired in the 357 Magnum. They make it in 38+p because some government agencies think the 357 Magnum is too "scary" for them. :roll:

There is one caveat. If you fire a bunch of 38's in your gun you should clean the chambers before shooting 357 mags because the carbon build-up can cause the cases to stick in the cylinder and in some circumstances that carbon build-up can cause pressure spikes with 357 mag ammo. :D
