Question: OM Bearcat Price estimate

What would a good guestimate be for a price of a run of the mill shooter grade OM Bearcat? Finish is of no importance as long as the gun has no rust, is complete, non converted, and functional.

This is for a future project as I can't afford anything right now.

I have seen the older Bearcats in obvious "pre enjoyed" condition for $250 or so at gun shows, maybe $300 for a nicer one, and seen a few beat up ones with probably a trillion rounds through them for $150-200 finding no buyers.......most non-Ruger fans aren't interested in these neat little guns and they have a hard time finding buyers at PA gun shows. Most people who want a SA .22 will just get a Single Six.

A mint older Bearcat with box was at my local gun shop for $400 the last time I was there.

Looking at the completed auctions on GunBroker.com, $300 give or take $25 before shipping and other fees. One was listed at $275 with no reserve that didn't even get one bid.

The wife's shooter is an Alphabet (H) we picked up for $300.00.

I agree, no more than $300 TOPS, with any and all taxes & shipping.........
passed on a couple the last show for $250 or LESS.........

I've been collecting Rugers since the early 1980's (I'm just a new guy compared to many). I've NEVER EVER seen a Bearcat priced at $250, not even a box of parts......

So, prices vary across our great land........

Flatgate, I keep telling you, gotta stop by, set for a spell at our table and you too can and will "see" to GOOD stuff and at some very affordable prices, you'd be amazed on how much we "pass" on,or let walk away,cannot and do not ,by them all................besides, those $200-250 bearcats LOOK just that price , if even that,and I KNOW you'd even "pass" on them.... :roll:
NOW, tha 22 magnum "new Bearcat" cylinder that came our way, of course we had to pick up 8)

I picked one up a couple of weeks ago for $270 shipped. Only wear was a little bluing from the muzzle, and a little patina on the hammer. Serial number put as a 1967 build.
