Question for you hunters

I don’t know if you remember years ago they had a tornado in mo. It wipe out a Walmart on range line rd . My brother in law was killed in Walmart he couldn’t get out in time . Anyway he was a hunter his wife my wife’s sister sent us one of Stan’s antlers from a deer he shot . I was thinking can I or should I use steel wool and birch and Casey true oil on them for or should I leave it alone thanks

They look fine to me... maybe just a wipe down with soap and damp cloth at most IMHO
But then, my wife says I'm not big on "cleaning" stuff.

Wipe the dust off with a damp cloth. Don't do any more. Sorry about your loss.

I’m sorry for your loss. I saw the destruction in Joplin right after that tornado. I pass Range Line Road every September on my way to Colorado. Personally, I’d wipe the rack off and leave it alone. The rack looks fine as is.

Do you have access to an air compressor? If so, blow as much dust off as possible. Maybe use some furniture polish on a rag to shine them up a bit.

I would use mineral oil on them.
It won't hurt a thing.
I have some bull horns that are well over 150 years old , and that is all I have ever put on them.
I have used it on deer antlers many times.
Put in on thick , let it soak in awhile , and then wipe it dry.

Without even talking to my brother. Air compressor and a clean paint brush. Then see what you have. I don't see any fading or anything requiring a repair/serious cleaning.

Warm soap & water to clean. Let dry. Mineral oil is good for horn as noted. I've used spray clear lacquer to spiff up skulls, and lemon Pledge on fur of a mount. (Directions from my taxidermist.)
