I opted for a sling system many decades ago. I bought Uncle Mike's barrel bands, as well as a special grip bolt with a swivel hole end for the grip. Uncle Mikes used to sell a package with all you needed. I bought extra barrel bands, as I only needed a few grip screws. Easy to carry, and if needed quickly, I have found that I can quickly unhook the front swivel very fast & bring the gun to bear. You can still find the stuff to put a sling system together, & it's not expensive.
Next, if you need a way to steady yourself, try the "string stock" system. (A piece of paracord, with a loop on each end, just long enough to slip the loops over each thumb, with the rest of the string going around your neck. With your arms extended, you should be pushing against a tight string.)
