eBikes - any users/owners here .....

looking at getting a "Lectric XP4 750 Step-Thru eBike" for our granddaughter for her birthday for to-from school and a part-time job....
this one has a suspension seat post, and suspension frame, wider seat, and hydraulic brakes, and some other good features.
anyone have an insights on them/this ???

I'm not too familiar with the more commuter style E-bikes. I've had more exposure to the full on mountain bike style E-bikes with friends I ride with. From that, I will say to buy through a reputable bike shop in case warranted repair is ever needed.

Double check all laws now. NJ new laws just kicked in yesterday.
No riders under 15 - period
Must have either a drivers' licence or special moped / e-bike license.
Anything with a throttle must be registered and insured
Like a car driver, must carry proof of registration, insurance, and license at all times.

New York is planning changes as well. Personally, I would recommend a moped over an e-bike, but that's just from my own experience. E-bikes seem to have the cool factor these days.

Thanks members... got her a Velotric Fold 1 Plus

she chose this color because it was a lot more visible; hmmm, she's on to something

we added some hi-vis reflective tape - red at the rear and rear corners, orange on the sides, and white to the front and front corners. also put some on her helmet

and she's got 18 miles on it already
