Question about leupold scope

Hi,
I have a 22/45 hunter model.. and I wanted to get a scope mounted on it.

I wanted to get: Leupold FX-II Pistol Scope 2x 20mm Duplex Reticle Silver

However, I'm not sure what kind of rings I need to get to mount it to the gun? Can someone tell me what I need to buy to mount it? Thanks!

James, are there three holes pre drilled on top of the gun's receiver? They would be filled with filler screws, but you will see them if they are there. If so, you need a one pice base for mounting with any Weaver style rings. Here is the link:

Previously, Ruger made a one piece base that accepted Ruger rings. I don't know if that one is still available. It was very nice, but very expensive.

After you get the base, you put any height Weaver type rings on it you like.

Most of the later 22/45 Mk IIs and the adjustable sight 22/45 Mk IIIs come with a Weaver top rail base and mounting screws packed in the factory box. If yours didn't come with one or you can't find it, most larger gun shops or any of the mail order shops will sell them. You will need Weaver-type rings to mount the scope on this base

good info above, for the most part the newer Weaver style base plate is better than the original Ruger 3 -hole base using the Ruger rings because many optics did NOT fit in between the close proximity of the rings spacing, too short ..........more options with the Weaver style plate,or a Weigand ,etc.........we use an even longer one so the shooter can move the optic further up or closer back.........any good gunsmith can set you up properly.
