I recently traded for a DAO half-lug GP100. It is one of the Century Arms Imports. Can I just change out the hammer to make it DA/SA? Thanks for the help.

Maybe, maybe not. They are hand fitted to the trigger and I hear reports both ways.
The really hard part might be finding the parts, Ruger doesn't sell hammers or triggers ya know.

I have an early Security-Six, with the finger shreader trigger,(serrated). I had a terrible time finding a smooth trigger for it. I finally found a brand new one at "Jack First gun parts".(google it)

Yes you can drop a standard hammer in, just swap the DA dog out. In fact I have a standard hammer I would be willing to trade.

I always figured it was the little grinding you usually see on the back of the dog where it rests on the hammer that was the area of custom fitment. Still not sure that just swapping the dog will always work though. Where is the area of variance that this fitting has to be made for?
Curious?
