Does any one know how many 22/45 mark 3s with the 4 1/2 fixed sitel, slab sided bbl were mfgd.?Emailed Ruger and they say they don't know. Odd they know when but not how many.

It's Rugers company policy to not publish production numbers. As for the comment about not knowing,,, I'd bet it was a true statement. They build guns in a series,, putting serial numbers on a bunch, switch models slightly, and pick up the serialed parts. They do not keep the detailed production numbers easily available to everyone. When building the 22/45,, they could easily build 1000 guns, switch barrel lengths, build another 1000, switch back to the first bbl length, etc.
We rely upon the RENE & members reporting their personal gun info to help us get "close" to production numbers. I doubt that reliable info is available for such a recent gun to the RENE.

Thanx for the help. Still think it's odd theat they don't even have an estimated amount. Any idea of how many years it was made??

Oh, I'm sure they can come up with a number,, if they wished. However,, they won't disclose it. As for the years,,, I'd have to dig into the catalogs & such to see when it was introduced & when it was dropped. Do you have a model nomenclature of the exact gun you wish to know about? (MKIII4 example?)

Yes, for some reason, Ruger continues to keep most of that info secret, claiming they don't want to release it for competitive reasons.
But they do have the info!! On the hypothetical thought that they didn't have the info, they would be the only manufacturing company with no idea which models sell best or which ones to build greater quantities of than others.
