Does this look correct? Ruger Blackhawk 41 Mag Ser # 69 currently for sale on Gun Broker. Shouldn't this be a flat top or something.

Sorry don't know how to post Pics. Tom

No, not correct and shouldn't be a flattop .........41 Magnum Blackhawks started in 1965 not 1955 as his description states. Seems he's confused with .44 Magnum.

Info courtesy of RENE.

Is stamped 41 magnum and #69. But I believe the 41 mag was introduced in 1964. So how a gun was made in 1955??

Welcome to the Forum.... another , don't know what they got seller, great number, I know where #69 .357 mag flatop is, and we used to own number #96, but let it go years ago....any two digit gun is a good one, for the collector of those models !!!
Wish it was a 22 cal Ruger, just maybe Momma would be interested........

Thank you for all the info guys, you are the best!

I contacted the seller armed with lots of good info, thanks to you guys. Seller says he was unaware that when Ruger started production of the 41 Mag Blackhawks they started with a new set of serial numbers. So the production date is actually 1965. He assumed all Blackhawks serial numbers ran consecutively regardless of caliber. Says he will annotate the listing accordingly.

The revolver does look like a mid sixties production and I was able to find a web site to confirm the date.

Tommy, the gun in questions will be back up for bid as gunbroker, stopped the auction due to a change in the "title", and the guns date of build..........so gunbroker stopped it this morning, early instead of the 10 day auction limit, kinda odd really but thats the way the cookie crumbles, ssssoooooooooo...
if anyone really wants or needs this gun, go for it ............ 8)

I have no dog in this hunt, just know the shop and they are doing their best for their customer......

the new gunbroker number is 517024246.............

maybe someone can put the link in proper ???

Hey RUGERGUY, I have #96 357 now....thanks for taking good care of it for me:D :D :D

Also #96 44 too.....

This 41 is a nice looking gun....I have #58 sitting on a shelf along with #14 & #15....

maybe #69 357 will be up for auction one of these days TOO....RR

I was there some time ago when the #69 .357mag came available, and our 'late' friend Bob C got it, we were ALL 'tickled'..........yessir if I collected Blackhawks I would certainly TRY and get it, specially a 2 digit number, , they just do NOT come up for sale, and the auction route is about the fairest way to go on something like this, level the field so to speak...............
Yessir, I remember #96 and the fact that John D. (NY JD) didn't care for it and wanted his money back,,,,ha ha Rich jumped all over it, in fact, that gun won an NRA medallion at the NRA convention in Salt Lake city or maybe the following one in Nashville, Rich had put a pair of factory stags on it, awesome gun........ 8)

so guys good luck on this #69 .41 mag Blackhawk, and may the best man ( woman) win

and thanks again 'tommy'.............
