Loading 45 acp 230 LRN, when measuring w/oal 1.270 will not fit case gauge. Whenn OAL about 1.310 fits case gauge fits better. I'm new to reloading. Has slight crimp. I know when go for correct oal, bulges the casing. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm having a hard time understanding what you are saying.
A loaded round that measures 1.270 will NOT fit the case gauge,, yet a 1.310 will fit the gauge?
However,, your problem may be due to the crimp. Are you using a roll type of crimp? The best thing is to get a "taper crimp die" and it'll be the correct crimp. The 45 acp headspaces off the case mouth,, not the rim. If you roll crimp it any,, it'll give you problems.

I'm a little confuse don"t mean to confuse you. I think the problem in the crimp. When I am seating the bullet it's expanding the cs. I need to adjust the crimp.

I set my caliper to .469".
Then I 'slip' it down over the bullet until it contacts the case mouth. If it doesn't 'fit' I increase crimp ever-so-slightly (usually a 1/8 turn of the die) until it just 'fits' over the crimped case mouth.

In my experience of loading for the 45ACP, it's better to rely on a tight bullet-to-case fit for securing the bullet, than it is to crimp.
That said though, I'm old school. None of auto-pistol dies have the new-fangled, taper-crimp feature. They only afford for a conventional roll-crimp feature when/if called upon to load for the 45 Auto-Rim.

johnbh...are you seating and crimping in one step? Sounds like you are.
