Proof Rattlesnakes don't ALWAYS Bite.

Somehow I seriously doubt that I would have been poking at him. I may have suggested that the idiot taking the pictures grab a REALLY big stick and get him away from me.

Me, there would be an "extremely high pitched masculine scream". Followed by a spastic leap that would make anyone laugh. Nor do I pet crocs. greg

Call me skeptical.

Don't know how they did it, but it's staged and bogus. Come on...I'll poke him with a really short stick and he'll go away? And my camera crew will just keep on a rollin'.

In fairness, I have no right to say this is staged when I don't really know. What I can say with certainty, is if it was me in the video, I guaranty it was staged.

I agree. I saw Steve Irwin once on TV demonstrate how to handle a rattler. He was very careful and did nothing to upset the snake. He seemed to know by the snakes demeanor when it was safe to pick the thing up. He had it in his hands and it was going from hand to hand. Not something I would try but he got away with it. This was not a snake from a box. This was a snake in the wild.

Maybe he had a doctor with anti venom standing by.

The last time I saw a rattler I was driving out of my dirt driveway. He was in the middle of the road. I got out of my van to try to shoo him away and when I got about 6 or 7 feet from him, he curled up with that "S" curve behind his head and started rattling. That actually physically sent a chill through my body. I just stayed there until he finally decided to crawl off into the brush.

Yeah obviously staged, fake "reality".

When I went through the police academy, the head man, a former Alabama State Trooper captain, said that he was only afraid of four (4) types of snakes-big and little, dead or alive. I agree totally. :)

Hi,

Had a shooting acquaintance years ago who'd probably go along with the Captain. His idea was there are only two kinds of snakes in the world. "There's rattlers, and all the rest is cobras!" is how he described 'em.

I have to say that someone that stupid would no longer be an acquaintance of mine. I would not trust their judgement on anything else that mattered. I have one word for the people that kill all snakes, even the ones that are beneficial and that word is "stupid".

Yes people, as unbelievable as it sounds, snakes are beneficial to man, especially if you live in a rural area with a rodent population. That's why I didn't kill that rattler.

Sometimes they do,though.
