All of us here, ALL OF US, had no Rugers at one time.

In fact, I remember when I first heard the name Ruger.

Well the first time I heard the word Ruger I thought my Grandfather meant Luger. My Dad was invited to Granddads' house to shoot his new Ruger and I got to tag along. I was 10 at that time in 1953.
What a disappointment when I first got there and expecting to get to shoot a for real German Luger. Here was a funny looking little 22LR same wimpy round as I had been shooting in Dad's 1897 Marlin.

When Dad was flying from Italy during WWII he sent a Luger with ammo back to my Grandfather, but later sold it due to hard times.
I did get to shoot that Ruger and the day ended well.:-)

Same here Bob. I was looking for a serious deer rifle, when my brother recommended a Ruger M77. I went to the LGS and selected a .270 Win. In 1980. Brought it home with a 10/22. This 77 still shoots tight groups. Lost count how many deer it has knocked off their little hooves.

Bob, the first I heard of Ruger was my cousin took me and a brother out to a field to go shooting. I was 14, he was 18 and the place is now a shopping mall parking lot. I thought he said Luger, and I thought the standard Ruger didn’t look right. We also shot his P38. Don’t know what happened to that one but I have the Ruger as I bought it from him shortly after.

The first time I heard the name Ruger it was referring to a dog. A friend had a Black Lab named ruger. He pointed me in the right direction and I ran with it. THANKS Rick!

Beats me what numbers change the ”rankings”. I don’t have a list. Not sure I’ve ever known. (y)

The change from Single-Sixer to Blackhawk is due to post count. I think it starts with Bearcat, then as you gain more posts,, you get a promotion to other "models" so to speak. It's just a fun way to show your activity,, and is done on other Forums as well.
I don't know the numbers where they promote you to a different model. But it looks like 500 is where the Single-Six goes to Blackhawk.
I was given the "Guru" handle by Flatgate (Thanks Carl) long ago, as he said I was often stepping in with good information on Rugers to help new folks. It's an honor I cherish.

The first gun I ever owned was a Stainless Blackhawk in .357. Then a 10-22. I ended up selling the Blackhawk to a buddy- he still has it. I’m thinking I might see if he’ll sell it back to me…
