Problem With A Blackhawk

Hi, all -

I am having an issue with a .357 S/S 6 1/2" Blackhawk.

When re-assembling the cylinder frame and the grip frame, the 2 rear screws definitely bind as they are inserted and tightened.

Upon examination, the threads of these S/S screws are damaged. This is a new revolver, new from the factory.

So, I swap out some new screws (non-S/S, because that was what I had) from Brownells, and the same problem arises - difficulty in threading the screws.

I do not fully seat these new screws, but, after removal, it is apparent that the threads on the end of these new screws are also slightly buggered-up.

When I first reassembled this revolver, I did notice that the rear grip frame screws did not screw in easily (I usually reassemble screws from front to rear, increasing the torque slightly on each screw 2 or 3 times).

The grip frame holes do not seem to perfectly align (visually) with the cylinder frame holes, as near as I can determine.

Is there an issue with some grip frames mating to other cylinder frames? The grip frame is obviously easily replaceable; the cylinder frame - not so much.

I am always polite (I hope), but that is a good reminder.

I just telephoned Ruger, and they said, "Send it back."

I am not upset about this, but my concern is that the cylinder frame holes are the problem. I will let Ruger fix it, and I am confident that they will do so.
