Isn’t the LCP Max available with a manual safety?
You can get a 2.0 with a safety. Or is there another reason you said get the original model?

Buy another one. The cost to change it would probably be more than or equal to a new one. I bought a MAX with LCI and safety. for $300.00+.
I bought a max pro. I was going to upgrade the trigger. My son talked me out of it. No safety and a light trigger? Stock trigger.
No they can't. Really about anything can be done like that with enough money, far more than you would want to spend.
I said NO, because of the liability that would be attached to that gunsmith. He/she would be personally responsible for doing such radical modification. If the gun was misused or the safety didn't work 100% of the time and someone was shot, the gun had AD, even if the owner needed the gun for SD. Say he did need to use the gun to defend himself and the time/effort used to put the gun into fire mode and he was harmed due to the delay. Any lawyer would have a field day getting a lawsuit paid off against the gunsmith.
But, heck go to a gunsmith and ask. Please post the reaction you get.

Maybe you could make a deal with someone. The new MAXs are available with manual safety

I'm gonna buy a Max 9 or an LCP MAX as soon as my piggy bank will allow it. The LCP was out of the picture until I read of the intro of the LCP with a saftey.
As a "get off me" gun, you want something you can press up against an object without the gun going out of battery.
Plus the original is DAO, where as the 2.0 is striker fired. For me personally a striker fired pistol with a round in the chamber makes me a bit skittish. The Sig P320 as a good example. DAO hammer-fired "get off me" guns are safer and easier to operate in a high stress situation.

Not sure how you carry it, but I got this pocket holster for mine. It covers the trigger guard completely. Obviously you can carry it un-chambered, but even if you do there is no way to pull that trigger until it's removed from the holster.
