Horrible that this happened. Grantville isn't that far from where my wife's niece & her husband live in Coweta County. I used to deer hunt in Meriwether County just South of there. Atlanta is like a cancer that just keeps spreading.

I sometimes go to a small gun shop that has a small rental range. The shop owner only keeps the shop open a limited number of hours, and always has at least one other employee with him at the shop, and both are armed. Often he has two other armed folks at the shop with him. But even that might not be enough if there are multiple thieves involved who are ready to kill all the witnesses. I never really thought of a gun shop as a dangerous place, but I guess it is.

They'll catch whoever did it. They know how many guns were stolen and the serial numbers. One or more will turn up sooner than later. The murder/s weren't MENSA candidates.

This is a tragedy.
Pure evil decided to prey upon an elderly couple, and their grandson, with the intent of killing witnesses,, and taking the cameras that could help identify them.
40 firearms, worth MAYBE 15-20 thousand dollars,, at best.
Approximately $5000 to $7000 per life.

Total disregard for all the people affected.

It proves (again) that the direction this once great Country is in currently is wrong.

Yes,, we all THINK that it'd be a stupid move to try & rob a gun shop or gun range,, where you know the people there are most likely armed. However, it was a planned attack, with the pre-formed plan to kill & steal.
Action is often faster & more effective than reaction.
For the elderly, well known, small town owners,, they were most likely NOT in the mindset of "It can happen to me, here & now." Complacent, to the point of not being situationally aware.
And, sadly,, not enough hidden cameras to help LEO's enough to quickly identify the scum who committed this atrocity.

My thoughts & prayers went immediately to this family for such a huge loss.

That is bad news for sure, and America seems to be full of animals that kill.
The gun shops and ranges around here in St Pete, have armed employees for the most part.

And some have entry doors that have to be buzzed from the inside, in order to gain entry. Since they have guns inside and killers willing to massacre them, it’s no wonder that they take precautions.

And then there is the occasional ramming of a gun store, using a stolen car.
Its happened here locally.

Used to be no more dangerous than any other small retail store. That's changed in the last couple years because of the high demand for guns by the gangs in the big cities, and other folks who can't pass, or don't want to mess with, a 4473. Small gunshops (about half a dozen within 20 miles of me) out in the country like this one are quickly becoming prime targets because the big outlets like Academy and others have the money to run significant high tech security. The mom&pop shops usually don't, and the bad guys know it.

Seems they have a person they have arrested in connection with this. The local Atlanta news is keeping this on the down low this morning. Did some checking and the person arrested is one of color from the south side. If we want more information we'll have to dig it up ourselves, as I'm sure this crime on the good folks at the gun range will be on the back pages of any news cycle.

Well that's odd the picture that came up on my search the guy was black.

But oh well glad they have the jackass.

If the paper seems purposefully to hide the identity of the person captured....then it's a dead giveaway to the ethnic demographic.

Jimbo1096 posted a link about a different shooting in a different state (LA) that pictures a black suspect.

The subject of this thread happened in GA and pictures show a white suspect.

No conspiracy I see but could be missing something.

Fret not, Jim, it is the stellar Atlanta Journal-Constitution doing the reporting LOL
Well at any rate I hope there is a special place in hell for this dirt bag. My Brother and I have been in that range a few times over the years on the way back from gun hunting in south GA. They seemed to be salt of the earth type people, it's just a crying shame.....

This for sure. Looks like nice people running a friendly range. Throw the book at this guy.....

Takes an exceptionally "brave" person to murder two 75 yr old's and their grandson.?!!NOT!, WTF is wrong with this country? Are we so far down the "rabbit hole" that there is no coming back? Have we lost all sense of right & wrong etc. Yes, I know there has always been murder & crime, but it does appear that it is spiraling out of control, and the usual backstop of govt & police can no longer be counted on to provide a deterrent, when many of them are themselves no better than the criminals! I am glad i am 72 because trying to raise children properly in todays world looks like a losing proposition!

Don't use "we" in connection with a brutal crime like this. There have always been evil people in our midst, people who would snuff out someone's life for a few dollars, a pair of sneakers, or two minutes of sexual pleasure. They do not represent us. It is the fools among us who try to deny the presence of such evil, wanting to blame it upon society and absolve the wrongdoer of responsibility. As long as there are humans living in a society there will be those that do not deserve to keep breathing. Civility is achieved only when the rest of us are willing to do what is necessary to stop the evil doers.

"We" is a euphemism for the collective greater number of peoples. A figure of speech if you will. "they do not represent us" Don't they? Every person was a solid citizen right up until they committed the crime. Some people go their entire life doing nothing wrong then screw up once. There in lies the slippery slope. Who decides who is wrong and what the punishment should be? Are there not mitigating circumstance? Doesn't environment, social upbringing, etc have an impact? Or de we just say its black n white and the woman who killed the abusive boyfriend broke the law, deserve no consderation, and that is that? I don't have the answers, but i certainly have alot of questions.

no God, no peace. know God, know peace.
they took him out of the law of the land. now, everyone scrambles to fill the void with other than perfect ideals.
enter...failed socialism, corrupt police and judges with no foundation to truth.

as it is said in that book that progressives hate..........everyone did what is right in their own eyes.

history is once again repeating itself.

Atlanta has been a DANGEROUS city since I was a child. Gangs ran rampant, in the 1950’s and1960’s. Crime is spilling over into the rural areas now too or so it seems. Prayers for the Hawks. A pox on their killer!!!
gramps

Once again this posting in an old thread got me... I did not realize I was reading something a year old until I saw one of the post was from Snake Pleskin...... in reading some of the replies I am reminded of just how racist some people are.... it is sad to say the least.
