HP Office Jet4500 Wireless printer. It is in constant "Power Save" mode. I can't even turn the machine off using the power button!

I hate these damn things and they respond in kind!

Most electronics these days are never completely off, even the ones that you think are. It started as a way to do fast turn on and stayed.

Most printer these days have settings you can configure to your liking. It's not uncommon for folks to turn a feature on or off without knowing it.

First, get the instructions, you can probably down load them on line, and see if there is a way to reset to factory.

If there isn't, unplug it and leave it unplugged for an hour or so (some folks say a few minutes, but I error on the side of caution). This should allow all of the power to bleed off and all of the settings to default to factory.

But I'm betting if you get those instructions it will tell you how to deal with this.

Way back in the archives of history, when the company I worked for was
beginning to market a thing now referred to as a Personal Computer, it
had a BIG RED SWITCH (BRS) that killed power to the entire unit.

When we had a significant error that needed a full system reset, we called
that BRS time. I think you need to use the current equivalent process.
As described by a previous post, the power plug will accomplish the same
function. :D If it somehow does not do what you need, look under the
cover and find the battery maintaining power to components. Unplug
that device also. :D

Ain't computenators fun?
