price point on a flatgate single six

looking at buying one.... what should it reasonably sell for in decent condition ?

lately we've found, seen and bought them anywhere from $250 to $600 mint shape...boxed, even MORE..................2 or 3 digit boxed, in the "thousands"???? :roll:
average, to nicer shape in the $350-450 range.............

Here in Michigan 90$ guns seem to start at around $500.00 now. I don't know whats happened over the last year or so, but they have taken a good sized jump in price.

mainly because the Bluebook shows flatgates in the $800 range and "add" $300 for the early, under serial number 2000, non serrated front sights....... :shock:

Well.........Seeing as how we are 57 to 58 years from original build, and so few guns retain high percentages of original finish, the numbers noted may be actually quite low. I call this factoring "Vision", or what is determined by "How many have you 'SEEN' in the SN 1 to 2000 group?" FOR ME, IN MY WANDERINGS, OVER 40 YEARS, THE NUMBER IS VERY LOW 8)

I saw one a couple months ago in the high 4k serial range sell for $600.00. it was about a 95% gun but seemed a bit high to me. Now if it had been like 200 or so numbers lower it would have been a consecutive number to one I have I'm pretty sure I would have grabbed it then.

I'm no expert by any stretch but the economy has had an effect on pricing.
If you have gun money I think it's a good time to buy collectables. ps
