Guy has a ruger P345 and $325.00 its stainless no box or manual but seems clean and he says about 100 rounds through it and only 1 mag what do you guys think, Buy or pass . Don't have much experience with this model?

I think $325 in hand is a fair deal on a P345. The P345 was offered as both a Decock only and a manual safety. They were also offered both with and without an accessory rail. The one problem with purchasing a used P345 is the mag disconnect issue. It is hard [aka impossible] to know how many times the weapon was unknowing or accidentally dryfired without the magazine in place. It could have never happened once or it could have happened every day. You won't know until you get the dreaded P345 click no bang. On the bright side if the issue has developed Ruger will fix it or if you are handy you can remove the MD altogether with a little work. All of the above said, I love my KP345DPR and it has run 100%. Very accurate with low recoil. It is nice and slim and fits my hand very well. I also like how Ruger shaved down all of the controls when compared to earlier P guns. I think $325 is a good deal! Last April I gave my dealer $500 and sent him to the Tulsa gunshow to buy me a 345D and he came home with a regular safety blue 345 for $450, one extra mag. I told him I didn't want it and we decided to leave it in his shop to sell for $450. It sat there until January until it finally sold. Any Ruger is worth $300 and $325 is not too far off.

Hey Al, Any pictures of the two? The 345 model is the farthest off my radar so I can't remember what mine looks like. I know it is DC though!!

Yes, a good price. As said earlier, dry firing without the magazine can (will) cause damage. Ruger will fix it for no charge. I have a stainless, manual safety model. It was shooting to the left consistently. I thought the front sight did not looked centered in the sight well. So I sent it to Ruger and they fixed the sight and replaced the barrel at no charge! How is that for customer service.

Thanks for all the input, The dry firing issue has me a little worried. Not sure but at least Ruger will fix the problem if it occurs. Just had both of my Springfield XDs returned from the factory and am tired of sending guns back, That was a 3 month wait. I guess I should stick with Rugers.

I like it smooth like that. did they make a DC only unit?? I'll have to get mine out but I'm pretty sure it has a rail.

Ya know I was trying to find a non railed DC only for a while but gave up. The non railed version was only offered in the beginning of the P345's production (2005) at which time Ruger was still producing DC only guns. So one has to think that they are out there. The DC only railed guns are certainly more common than the non railed DC only pistols, but like unicorns I know they exsist. :lol:

No doubt! I went crazy trying to find every DAO model they made. If I remember it took 2 years of my life. Then I sold them all to finance other endeavors. LOL, funny how priorities change.
