Two 4lb pork belly slabs thawing to make smoked burnt ends, 6 packs of Pollack Johnnies ready for the rack over the pork bellies, meatballs made and ready to cook, full wings marinating waiting to be deep fried and then soaked in my famous secret Red Hot Ordie sauce, variety of chips and dips to include my Wife's awesome chunky crab dip, upstairs and downstairs fridges stocked with an abundance of beer and girly drinks for the Wives and girlfriends, Wife has her selection of wines ready......house is decorated in Blue and Gold.....tomorrow at 0700 sharp the speakers will be flowing with running cadence, marching cadence, and marching band playing as the Wife and I put the final pieces together before the guests arrive and are piped aboard.
This is a holiday in my home. Every year we have a party for Americas Game. I The only time I've not had a party I was either deployed or at the game. As we've grown older the party isn't what it once was. I'm good with that as I don't think I could survive the parties we had 20 some years ago.
This will also be the first one without my youngest Son. He was fortunate to be stationed close to home for the first two since he's been in. He's in California now completing his A school. Unfortunately his duty section fell on this game day...and he has a 4 hour Quarterdeck Watch while the game is on. He did get permission from his Chief and head Instructor to stream the game on his phone. At least he can watch it live.
