Pre and Post 151 Differences ?

I'm looking at buying a Speed Six that is in nice condition BUT I note that aftermarket grips are all advertized as fitting post 151 models only. This one has serial # starting with 55. It must be old.

Just had a few questions for those in the know

Are pre 151 models worth more ?

What are the differences in the pre and post 151 models ?

If there are advantages to the post 151 models, should I just hold off until I find one ?

the first ones, oldest models are the #150 prefix, they have a different configuration of the grip frame, slid around in the hand too much so they changed it???

looks like he may have given me the wrong prefix - or I misheard him. If 150 was the first ones, then this must be a 155 ? Perhaps I just did not hear him say the 1

I just noticed the sticky thread on serial number history. Checked out the Ruger site and there is no 55 prefix, but there is a 155. The guy either did not say the '1' or (more likely) I did not hear it. A 155 prefix is 1980 vintage - no need to worry about any grip fit issues here.

People only run into grip issues when they encounter the limited transition model. I saw one of those grips sell a couple of years ago on GB for more than the price of a gun.

I think i would make grips before paying that much.
