I was actually going to make a thread about the first three James Bond movies with that exact opening and how the guy is 'slinging' his shot, absolutely the wrong way to draw a pistol. During our big ice/snow adventure I started watching all the Bond films over again in order... not sure I'm going to make it through though... really don't care for Roger Moore.

The PPK I bought at the same time as an Sig P230 I let go to a friend .... tried my best to talk him out of it but he just had to have it.

I've never owned a PP/PPK, but did have a Hungarian PA-63 clone in 9X18. Had it for a while, but didn't like the heavy double action trigger. I considered trading for a Walther, but went for a Browning .380. I like the 1911 platform.

We've already posted this video here, but I'll post it again: How one Geoffrey Boothroyd talked Ian Fleming into upgrading Bond's sidearm from a .25 Beretta - "a ladies' gun, and not a nice lady at that" - to the Walther PPK.

Although Boothroyd personally thought Bond really needed an old-school, flattop Ruger Blackhawk in .44 Magnum just like his . . . :ROFLMAO:

Although to be fair, I guess the first-generation flattop Blackhawks weren't really "old-school" back in 1964.

And oh yeah, I've been mispronouncing "Walther" all my life.

Great one Wes, I had never seen that video or heard that story!
