Polish lc9 barrel

Has anyone polished the barrel and feed ramp to their lc9? Mine has been flawless but the bluing of the barrel and feed ramp is rubbing off and honestly looks like crap. If u have polished it how and what did u use and how did it turn out? Thanks

I did mine about 9mos ago. Seems like i soaked it in a 50% solution of vinagar and water. Then i polished it with Flitz. I love the results. I also put on the Galloway silver/black trigger, they look great together. Did you do a search in the gun smith area, I beleive there was step by step directions?

Is the barrel stainless steel under the coating? Or is it "in the white" and susceptible to rust once the coating is removed?

I polished mine first with a fine piece of sand paper and then a polishing wheel on my dremel, using some flitz. It looks real good. I also purchased a stainless steel guide rod to replace the plastic stock piece, and it balanced out real well.

it added just a bit of weight and made the handgun feel just a bit more balanced in my hand, otherwise it just looks good with the polished barrel.

Thanks for the input. I polished mine yesterday I submerged in white vinegar for 45 min, rinsed with warm water, then used some mothers aluminum and wheel wax and polished by hand with a soft towel, when i got the shine I wanted I cleaned with some soap and water. It looks really good will post pics later if I can

I would add that the polymer guide rods have broken in some pistols. I just don't care for polymer guide rods and I've replaced them in any pistols I've owned that had them (if there were steel rods available.)
