I have read with great interest on this site about people cutting off the barrels on their revolvers. Any befor and after pictures out there that we can look at? Really interested in what a Super Redhawk looks like with the barrel shortened. Thanks
 
I also would like to see a picture of a Super Redhawk with shortened barrel. Say 5" ??
 
The 7.5 is my favorite SRH. I've got a custom 6.5 inch SRH... I don't care to the looks of the shorter versions until you get to the Alaskan..

I have been looking for a 2 3/4 SP101 .22 for a long time, but haven't had any luck. Every now and then I have a chance for a 4", and I have considered cutting the barrel. I haven't talked to a gun smith -- is this feasable. Probably too expensive considering the cost of the gun to start with.
 
I got a 454 with the intention of cutting it down to Alaskan length so i could have an Alaskan with rings. Then I lost my job and the idea went out the window.

I like the ones Bowen does, with the Alaskan frame, and the redhawk barrel. It is the Super Redhawk Alaskan GP-44 package, and is far and away the best looking SRH around, in my eyes. http://www.bowenclassicarms.com/new/RugDAbasic.htm .

Thats what I`m going to do with my new 480 Ruger I got last week...I`m trying to get some pics up soon. Dont worry I have 2 480 with 7.5 barrels just going to cut up one for backup Zombie attacks.



I wonder what would be a good load in a short barrel, light or heavy? 325 or 400....I guess the only way to find out is to load some up and see.
