Today was payday and I have the day off. So, I went and picked up my M77 Hawkey in .300 Win Mag. Got a couple boxes of prvi partizan 180 gr. SP for $23/box too. Now, a good cleaning (it sure is dusty from sitting on the self) and by this weekend gonna see how long it takes for the Tasco scope to break. LOL
 
I once bought 5 new Trashco scopes in a package deal. Three of them never made it to a rifle as they were broken in the box. The other two ended up in the same place as the first two. As targets.

Would not buy another or accept one as a freebee again. Good luck to you. Once you put a Leupold 3X9X40 on it(or 3.5X10X40) you will have a nice hunting rig which will always work for you.
 
I never thought Tasco had good optics. Plus, I might need some more eye relief. :shock: This one's WAY too close. And, it's not even level with the gun either. I'll order a Leopold within the next month, unless I happen to find one from somebody.
 
I have had real good luck with Simmons master series scopes. optic planet has straight 6x on sale for about $75.00 Just put one on my 7mag,works great.
 
Went and shot a few rounds at old milk jugs today. Recoil is milder than I expected. Actually felt like more of a push than a kick. The first shot was dead center of the milk jug and exploded the jug. I was in awe. The scope did need 1 click each up and left for repeatability. Didn't break the scope, but going back tomorrow to play with it, the SP101 (357), and my buddy's AK (loaned him the red dot off my 10/22 and needs to sight it in). The Tasco may have lasted 12 rounds, but we'll see if it can do 28 more. lol

I'm in love with this gun. Worth every penny. I needed more Hoppe's #9 when I was at Wam-Lart, so I picked up some Hoppe's Elite gun oil. It smoothed the action up temendously. The bolt slides like it's on bearing now. RemOil didn't help much I wasn't too impressed with the action when I got it home and played with it. But, 2 drops of the Hoppe's and it's a totally different gun.

We'll pull out the target stand tomorrow and zero it in. I'm just trying to decide how far back to go when I do.

LMAO! Thanks. Me too. It would've been worse since it is a Tasco. I kind of got myself a little worked up about it, since it doesn't have quite enough eye relief to be comfortable. If that Tasco will hold up, my Bushnell on my .22 should last too. It's a cheaper one, but it can focus both the cross hairs and the target.

Going to punch paper with it today. Pictures and maybe some video will be up later.
 
Well, went out Sunday, but had a couple more guys go with than I knew were going (or that thaty were even invited to my farm), but we did have a good time. One of the guys brought his Rem 770 .270. Didn't sight it in, just "plinking" milk jugs again. The Tasco is slowly losing zero and rotating the crosshairs. Time to find another scope! hehe I really thought one of the guys was going to get a half moon, but luckily he didn't. Grouping is 3" @ 150 yards with the Tasco. Got to do some work out there and I'll pull out the target stand and tagets and get it zeroed within a couple of days. I love this gun
