PX having sale on all in stock 22 LR. Only NewBearcat they had was in display case. Bought it anyway, couldn't beat the 10% off. Nice little revolver. Only Ruger single action I have that the hammer has to be at half-cock to rotate the cylinder for loading/ejecting. Not hard to get used to at all.

Ruger contacted me saying they will have the newBearcat picked up by UPS at their expense. They will inspect it and hopefully fix the dings & scrapes, also the grip panels. Not often I would buy a gun from the display case but suspecting Ruger would take care of it I took the chance.

Furlough day for me today but well worth it, got my NewBearcat back from Ruger. Owe them a big thank you. I only requested the scratched grip panels be re-finished or replaced on this PX display case revolver.

Ruger did way more than that;
New Basepin
New Ejector Housing
New Grip Panels
and....they refinished the gun itself.

Expense to me.....just time. If it was any other make I probably would have passed it up.

Personal weakness???? Nahh, we call it "Rugeritis." And I'll be the first to admit I do not want a cure & will whip the first one who tries to offer a cure!
Good to hear you got a good one & we fully expected Ruger to address any issues.

Good for you, same thing happened to us just the past OGCA, guy brought over a NEW Bearcat, all locked up, jammed tight, and wanted to get rid of it, I told him to send it back ,he was a "second or third" party, they all gave up, I got it for the "proverbial song & dance" ( just what they wanted by the way)...Monday AM called Ruger, they send me the ONE part, that was needed, shipped the bad one back, ALL better, and it is "as new"...
Yes, Ruger can be great to work with. :wink:

When I was poor and just starting out in my trade. I built my tool collection by buying junk tools at flea markets then bringing them in for warantee replacement. I haven't had the chance to do it with a Ruger yet.

NO Rugeritus is not a character flaw, but rather a sign of your great intelligence. Ed

Your very lucky. my Rugeritis developed into Smithitis which then became a pandemic of Winchesteritis. I'm incurable and has caused my home to fill up full of gun safes.

you're all pretty lucky. When I began my collecting hobby Wife#1 decided on one too. So she has emerald-itis. And opal-itis (black opalitis is the worst). And shiny-stuff-itis.
$500 for a new gun means $500 also spent on gemstones. I laugh at the folks here who "hide" their gun purchases from their spouse! That's an invitation to disaster of course, and a fools' game! What's good for the goose, as they say... :roll:

All is fair in love and marriage in a community-property state. My meager collection of leverguns, SA Rugers, snubbie DAs, and 1911A1s doesn't stand a chance.
- You'd be surprised at how fast one comes to estimate carats from across the room...
