PC9 and 10/22 Parts Interchangeability

Just picked up my PC9, took a peek inside and am wondering what parts of the trigger group will interchange. From the schematic and having fiddled with 10/22s it looks like the hammer, safety, trigger and trigger return spring will interchange. Housing body and bolt release, no. Not sure about anything else and at this point switching out the safety (I shoot lefty) plastic trigger and replacing the factory hammer with a Volquartsen are my only interests.

Anyone done or have info on what can be changed? I'm not into overly accessorizing the gun, just a few changes of things I don't care for.

While the appear almost identical, Volquartsen told me the PCC's hammer, sear and trigger are not interchangeable with 10/22 parts but they are working on replacements. I've also questioned Brimstone Gunsmithing to see if they can work on the PCC's trigger group but have no answer yet.

The PCC's safety is identical with the 10/22's and Tactical Innovations left-handed safety for the 10/22 is a direct replacement. I'm a lefty also and have installed the TI left-handed safety in my PCC. It works perfectly.

Thanks for the Brian Enos Forum reference. Near the bottom of page 8 is a photo of a PC Carbine with a red dot sight mounted on a base that replaces the rear sight and the poster said the base was made by a "Brian Miller". Any idea who he is and if those bases are commercially available? They seem like an ideal mounting method.

Great, thanks for the link. I'll try to contact him but I expect the mount shown was a one-of-a-kind and he isn't making them commercially. We'll see.

A follow up. I did contact Brian Miller and he does make the PC Carbine mounts for the Vortex Venom, C-More RTS2 and in a pic rail version. The price is about $40 delivered and seems very reasonable. I think i'm going to buy one.

The advantage of having the red dot mounted on the barrel instead of the receiver is that the zero can't shift after take-down and reassembly. It's not really a problem now but it can't hurt to avoid it.
