PB BLASTER penetraring spray oil

It's does ok. When I have to remove something that I know will be tough, I start soaking it, in advance. None of them will work if you don't allow the rust time to soften.
"Knock er Loose" by CRC works very well too.

PB seems to work much better than WD 40 for me,,,

But the key to both is to soak,,soak,,,soak,,,ahead of time

good stuff , used it on the tractors, mowers and cars, but prefer 'Kroil' for the gun stuff...
but like said above, the "key word is soak, soak, soak" :wink:

Use it at work. Kinda works like WD40 to me success wise. Time is the key. The old GM Heat Valve Lube was the best IMO but can't get it any more.

Another Kroil user. But for every day wipe downs I have a cloth with 3 in one or hopped oil I use.

I can't be sure but I'm going to say that you should be careful using PB around synthetic parts. I've also seen some bubbled paint in areas where it's been hosed. That may have been caused by something else but I'm leaning toward caution. I use PB on equipment with stuck bolts/nuts but I'll stick to Kroil for guns. A guy gave me a can of some "real good stuff" according to him. It about knocked me out from the fumes(acetone) the first time I used it. Definitely not synthetic safe but it sure did work on some stuck bolts in blind holes.
That "good stuff" is labeled "Penetron".

Why use PB Blaster on guns when there are so many products designed specifically for use in guns that will not harm them. Save it for automotive and other uses.

Jimbo, cuz in my limited & recent trial of it, it seems to lube better and continue to penetrate and bring dirt up to the surface, than the clp I've been using for years. As said if anyone has any valid reasons NOT to use it, I would love to hear them, thanks. I didn't buy the pb initially for guns, but tried it and liked it, and am only using it on one gun for now until the verdict is in. Other products like kroil, frog lube???

I know just from the smell and probably from the label that there are some volatile chemicals in that stuff that will probably hurt plastic, polymer, wood, wood finishes and I doubt it is a very good lubricant. If you want to use it to scrub the bore of your gun be careful not to get it on anything else. I use some stuff with ammonia once in a while to remove copper fouling and I use the same precautions.

Looking on PB's site they seem to make about 5 or 6 different sprays...Each for a specific use

This has circulated around machinist forums for along time.
--- Note it has been shown that ATF and acetone don't mix, that was a atake off of Tri Clor 111 and ATF which did mix---

FWIW - I have used Liquid Wrench since I was a kid. It was Dad's choice so I just grew up with it, doesn't hurt that it doesn't break the bank either.

ATF is good for a lot of things I have tried.
