I currently own one of the older Blue P95 DC pistols. It was made before they added the Picatiny Rail to the P95 series. I am thinking about getting a New P95 in Stainless with the rail and was wondering if the Holsters that I already have should fit the new version. Or has the pistol's dimensions changed too much by the adding of the rail.

I see that Blackhawk now makes a SERPA CQC Holster for the P95. Does anyone know i it will fit the new current model with the front rails.

I am assuming the magazines will work in both pistols, can anyone confirm?

Thanks for Your help

It should fit a gun with a rail just fine, but obviously if you put anything ON the rail, all bets are off.

If you want a new gun ... fine .... but I wouldn't buy it just BECAUSE of the rail. Most people that start hanging all kinds of crap off a gun lose interest in that in about one ot two range sessions. Stuff hanging off a gun makes a gun miserable to handle ... unless you REALLY need it. For night work, like in your house, without proper training, keep in mind anything that is in the lightbeam is also in the gun's beam, which means it's far more likely that you'll shoot your dog, or a kid's friend, or a vase full of flowers when you're stressed. I vastly prefer a hand held flashlight rather than a gun-mounted flashlight for that type work.

I'd think about it deeply first. There are probably more rail-mount lights and lasers sitting in drawers than mounted on guns. Everybody wants that stuff ... until they have it. :D JMO, and from reading.

The old and new 95's use the same mags and the rail doesn't change anything unless you mount something to it as Rev said.

I have also read where flash lights on guns are a bad idea. Same as Rev said also.

Yes, the Blackhawk SERPA fits the P95 with rails. I bought one last year and it works great. I don't think it will work if there are any attachments to the rails.

HTH,

I have a p97 and a p95 with a rail. I have an uncle mike's holster injection molded holster that is suppose to fit both. It doesn't. The p97 is fine but the p95 is more squared on the frame where the rail is. An older p95 non railed gun would be fine. Mark
