P95 decocks and why they stopped making them

I was posting a thought over in the rifle section and made the comment that you never can tell what the Corporate Big Wigs are going to do next.... and pointed out they stopped making the P95 decock model... then I had a 'new' thought of why they did this.

Nothing to do with lawyering or safety or such but it had to do with the new SR models. I suspect they quit making the decock P pistols to eliminate these competing with the new SRs..... Still a silly decision in my opinion....

Ruger also Killed a bunch of "P" Models too ..........................

This is just a guess but, I would say that one factor is Ruger considered some of the states that would not approve the DC version since it wasn't a bonofide true "safety" And Ruger didn't want to market both versions of the P series with all the other handguns and rifles they have introduced the last couple years since all of them have some type of saftey (even the new revolvers have a lock type under the grip)

Ruger makes the DAO P95 for the Federal Bureau of Prisons I'm sure there might be a few DC versions for another department floating around or some one has one for sale somewhere. Just look around.

They dropped all of the DAO (double action only) models as well. I once had a P93DAO that was truly a great defensive pistol. Alas, in an impulsive moment, I traded it for something else. If I could have found a P90DAO (I don't know if they ever made any), I believe that it would have been my final center fire pistol purchase.

There is a .40 caliber stainless P94 DAO at a shop near me. Its stickered at $300.00 and has been there for quite awhile. If anyone wants their contact info just PM me.
