Hi all. I found this site a few months ago researching a rifle I bought but more on that latter. At the gun shop I frequent, they have a P94 in .40 s&w. I have been unable to find any info on it. All of the info I find is for the 9mm. So is this a rare gun from Ruger or not?

It's very common, and went out of production last year. I was lucky to get one about a year ago. The 40S&W version is technically a "P944", or a "KP944" if the top is stainless.

My only complaint was that I had to send it back to ruger for a small amount of dremel work on the chamber entrance, bevel wasn't perfect, caused a jam now and then as the leading edge of the brass would hangup on it and not enter the chamber.

After the repair, what can I say, it's flawless, I've put through thousands of rounds at this point, almost all reloads, without a single jam or malfunction of any kind.

get it!

Actually, I have one too in .40. They are a lot more common in .40 than 9mm.

The slides say P94 regardless of 9mm or .40.

Mine has never malfunction once since I bought it in around 1998 or so.

Thanks for the input. The gun I was looking at has a stainless slide and says P94 on it. Must be what threw me off while looking for info on it.
